GOES which stands for Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite, will provide continuous observations of severe weather events on Earth and space weather, as well as providing an update to search and rescue capabilities. The Satellite will monitor fast-changing conditions in the atmosphere that spawn hurricanes, tornadoes, floods and other hazards.
